Appointments and Cancellations
Please provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, you will be responsible for the full session fee.

Sessions are typically 50 minutes long, but you are welcome to discuss and request a different duration. If you'd like to adjust your session length, please make arrangements in advance.

Please note that cancellations or rescheduled sessions not received at least 24 hours in advance will be charged in full. This policy is in place because your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you. If you arrive late for a session, your session time may be shortened accordingly.

Telephone Accessibility
If you need to reach me between sessions, please leave a message on my voicemail. While I may not be immediately available, I will do my best to return your call within 24 hours. In case of an emergency, please dial 911, or go to your nearest emergency room.

Social Media and Telecommunications
To protect your confidentiality and maintain professional boundaries, I do not accept friend or contact requests from current or former clients on social media platforms. This helps preserve your privacy and ensures our therapeutic relationship remains clear. If you have any questions or concerns about this, feel free to discuss them with me during our sessions.

Electronic Communication
I cannot guarantee the confidentiality of communications made through text messages, phone calls, or email. By contacting me through these methods, you are consenting to their use for communication purposes.

When utilizing HIPAA compliant telemedicine platforms or software services, please understand that:

  1. You have the option to withhold or withdraw consent at any time without affecting your future treatment.

  2. All confidentiality protections still apply.

  3. Any identifiable images or information shared through telemedicine will not be disseminated to researchers or other parties without your consent.

  4. Telemedicine has both potential benefits (e.g., convenience, improved access to therapy) and risks, such as the inability to observe non-verbal cues (e.g., body language or physical condition) that may be important for therapy.

Minors
If you are a minor, your parents may have the legal right to access some information about your therapy. I will work with both you and your parents to discuss what information is appropriate for them to receive and which aspects of therapy are better kept confidential.

Termination
Ending therapy is a significant process, and I am committed to ensuring that it happens in a way that provides closure. The length and process of termination will depend on the nature of the therapy and the work we've done together.

If I believe therapy is no longer effective or if you are in default on payments, I may recommend ending the therapeutic relationship. However, I will discuss the reasons for termination with you first. Should therapy end for any reason, I will provide referrals to other qualified professionals to continue your care, if desired.

If you do not schedule an appointment for three consecutive weeks (unless prior arrangements have been made), I will consider the professional relationship to be discontinued for legal and ethical reasons.
